It's that time of the year again! Black Jack work party season is upon us. Time to tune up those skiing muscles with some good ol' fashion hard labour!
We are changing gears a little bit this year. With the substantial logging on the trails through the fall we are bound by the amount of trail work we are able to do. The good news, is that lots of it has been done for us by machines.
However, all of our cabins have officially run out of fire wood. As such, this year we will focus on chopping and delivering wood to the cabins. If you have a pickup truck, wood splitter or a serious love of stacking firewood, we could use you. The club has a few chainsaws that can be used, but if you would like to bring one, please do.
In an effort to keep the work efficient and reduce the bite out of everyone's precious weekend time we will run two work days. Each one will be from 10:00am to 3:30pm on Sunday, October 30th and Sunday November 6th . Please meet at the trailhead cabin to get put to work. If all the work is completed on the 30th, the work party on the 6th will be deferred.
Please join in the fun if you can. Once the work parties finish up there will be a bbq dinner afterwards for all the hungry helpers.
A few things to bring:
- Some lunch food
- Water
- Gloves
- A few layers (we work rain or shine, snow or heat)
